Joined Expression Genetics in June 2002. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Hovanes served as Vice President for Administration, Facilities and IT with Shearwater Corporation, which Mr. Hovanes co-founded in 1992. Between 1992 and 2002, Mr. Hovanes held a number of positions within Shearwater, gained 10 years of diverse experience in sales, marketing, information technology, quality assurance and facilities design/buildout, and was responsible for the administrative function and facilities oversight of Shearwater, including the design and build-out of new facilities. Mr. Hovanes served as a member of the board of directors of the Biotechnology Association of Alabama.
