Recipient of the 2006 National Medal of Science awarded by the President of the United States of America; the Germeshausen Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Langer has been named Institute Professor, the highest honor awarded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology faculty and administration. He was the Chairman of the FDA’s Science Board, the FDA’s highest advisory board. He is a member of three national acadamies and has received many prestigious awards in the fields of biomedical engineering and medicine.
