Co-founder and Chairman of the Hudson Alpha Institute of Biotechnology, a not for profit research institute for the life sciences. Mr. McMillian was co-founder, VP of Engineering, and board member of Adtran, Inc., where he retired in 2002. Prior to Adtran, Mr. McMillan served in engineering management positions with Universal Data Systems and later on at Motorola. He helped found Systems Engineering Laboratories in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he served as director. Mr. McMillian is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, and a graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Presently Mr. McMillian is President of a Private Family Foundation.
